Born in Detroit to parents who came from Bosnia as refugees, Earliest memories of life are visiting cousins and extending family in St. Louis, Moved to St. Louis at the age of 2 with family, Remembers while growing up that her father and mother were always working, Parents speak very little about Bosnia and the conflict or the former Yugoslavia, Family before the war was not a fan of Tito and the polices of the former Yugoslavia, Father was injured during the war due to and explosion which left him with spinal cord injuries, Hopes that future generations will remember what happened and that there will be more recognition so that it cannot happen again
