A Cornerstone, traditionally the first stone set in place for a structure, is an opportunity to orient or ground a new building. At Fontbonne, some building cornerstones hide secret caches of past history that weren’t meant to be reopened. Fontbonne’s centennial celebrations provide an opportunity to add to this tradition, as we plan to bury a time capsule to be opened in a quarter century. This collection highlights all these hidden treasures. Filled with items of religious, political or cultural significance (or just things that brought joy), they provide a glimpse into Fontbonne’s past.
