Description
Born to parents from the region of Srebrenica in Zavidovići , Left the country as a small child and came to the United States, Visits Bosnia about once every three years and enjoyed seeing family and going to concerts, Bosnia is a great place to be for a few months but to live there can be difficult due to the economy, Most friends are Bosnian as it is easier to connect to someone when you share similar backgrounds, Parents rarely talk about what happened but mother tells of a story about escaping a bombardment of motor fire while washing clothes in a stream, Bosnian heritage to her is everything and makes her what she is today, Identifies as Bosnian American as she was born in Bosnia but holds citizenship in both countries and has adapted to life in the United States, Wishes that what happened in Bosnia did not ever occur as she would have known her both of her grandfathers and uncle who died in the conflict, Hopes that future generations still remember what happened and commemorate the event, Hopes that what happened is not repeated in Bosnia or anywhere else
