Description

Members of the Class of 1953 gather around a fireplace. Photo taken during the 1950-51 academic year at the Decatur Signal Depot. A dog named Colonel is in the center of the group.

Notes

From a letter published in the Winter 2000 issue of Fontbonne College Magazine:

I found this "old" picture when I cleaned out my father's old photo albums - his name was Colonel John F. McCarthy. We lived in Decatur, Ill. when I attended Fontbonne and one weekend I took the girls in the picture home with me. My father had one of his officers come to our house to take this picture at Decatur Signal Depot, an army base for the Signal Corps. We were all in the class of 1953. The picture was probably taken in the 1950-1951 school year. From left to right are Louan Marienau Dolan; Barbara Hogan Manning; 'Colonel,' my collie; me, Pat McCarthy Bimschleger; Mary Lou Horn (sitting in chair); and Toni Lowry Bena (sitting on floor next to me). I just thought you might like to see some of your "old students" and hopefully we all will be able to attend our 50th reunion.

Sincerely, Pat McCarthy Bimschleger Lexington, Ky.
