Course: FAS 205 Apparel Production and Evaluation
Instructor: Ruth Adikorley
Apparel Production and Evaluation helps students develop an understanding of ready-to-wear garment production and the decisions involved in all phases of the production process. Over the course of the semester, students learn to analyze techniques used by manufacturers and methods for evaluating apparel quality.
For this project, students create mood boards featuring a collection for the next year's spring season for a specific target market. The project asks students to find inspiration through their research into the demographics and psychographics of their selected target market and the brands who sell to these markets. They are then asked to design a five-piece collection, determining a color palette, fabric, fiber content, and price point for each garment.
