The purpose of this panel discussion is to reflect on the lived experiences of early career professionals from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds in the fields of speech-language pathology and deaf education. Questions during the panel will guide listeners and participants to think about their own power and “responding to the call” to support early career professionals from culturally and ethnically diverse backgrounds entering the workforce.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
As a result of this activity, participants will be able to:
1. Compare and Contrast the experiences of panelist with their own early career experiences.
2. Identify opportunities to create inclusive and supportive environments for early career professionals from culturally and ethnically diverse backgrounds.
3. Identify opportunities to support the growth and retention of culturally and ethnically diverse early career professionals in speech-language pathology and deaf education.
4. Reflect on personal experiences and/or opportunities when one could have used or did use their personal power to support a professional from a culturally and/or ethnically diverse background.
