Description
Born to Bosnian parents in St. Louis after they end of war, Remembers memories of growing up in St. Louis in neighborhood where the houses had bars on the windows, Parents found it hard to adjust and do not speak English which makes it that her and her siblings have to translate for a lot of events in life, Visited Bosnia growing up and after one visit had to relearn English once again, Attended classes for ESL and became comfortable with the language that now her parents call her American, Forgets Bosnian words and how to say them at times but still see herself as Bosnian and America, Believes that there needs to be more of a focus in school on what happened in Bosnia and the history of the events, Wants future generations to learn about other cultures and always remember what happened in Bosnia so it does not happen again
