Born in Goražde while her mother lived in the city and her father worked in Croatia, Earliest memories are of living in a small apartment with mother and waiting for paperwork to join father in the United States, After moving to St. Louis family opened up a restaurant and established a middle class lifestyle, Feels that living in St. Louis has left her with a normal Bosnian upbringing, Enjoys Bosnian music and cultural including Bosnian folk music and many other genres, Has visited Bosnian occasional and wants to visit as much as possible, Living in St. Louis helps other Bosnians as much as possible with translation and other tasks, Identifies as Muslim and occasional practices especially during major holidays, Bosnian heritage means being part of a community that is special and being different from everyone else, Family is trying to forget what happened in Bosnia but she belives that forgetting is not the best thing to do since if they forget then events will repeat themselves, Has the understanding that what happened in the conflict in Bosnia was a nationalistic conflict and the events that happened horrible, Wants future generations to never forget what happened and to not forget who they are, Be proud of their heritage and not hide their Bosnian roots and culture
