Born in Sarajevo and lived with parents and some extended family, Earliest memories are of traveling to the hospital in Sarajevo, Remembers family having an extra room in the house that was used to house family and friends temporarily during the war, Parents went out during the war at night using the Sarajevo Tunnel to get food for the family, Identities as Bosnian American as his culture and language at home is Bosnian but everywhere else it is American, Family originally moved to Dallas but due to large Bosnian population in St. Louis decided to move there, Remembers first days in the United States thinking everything was different and looking at the large amount of cars and buildings, Learned the language easily and made friends easily as the apartment family lived in was almost all full of immigrants, Wants future generations listening to prevent events such as those that happened in Bosnia from happening if they have the power to prevent them
