Born in the city of Sarajevo, Spent some time in Germany as a child, Married before the outbreak of the war, Siege of Sarajevo begin in 1992, Single mother after divorce from Serbian husband, Experienced shelling of the city while caring for son, Smuggled son out of the city thanks to Jewish community of Sarajevo who provided papers showing his identity as a Jewish baby, Afterwards stayed in Sarajevo during the siege and become a journalist for the Associated Press, Views journalism as a fight for truth, Still lives in Bosnia, Did not want to leave as did not want to be a refugee who is helpless, Views her career as a journalist as a fight for the truth and a way to shed light on the injustices in places such as Srebrenica
