Grew up and born in St. Louis, Father from the town of Stolac, Mother from Sarajevo, Both parents were held in labor camps during the war, Released after the end of the war, Family do not talk about the war as it is very traumatic, Parents suffer from PTSD from events, Visited Bosnia regularly, Sees Bosnia as similar to the United States while being technology behind in things such as cellphones and automobiles, Belives that there is no further in Bosnia and cannot see himself or family ever moving back to Bosnia, Parents experienced a difficult time when first arriving in the United States as they did not know English and had no employment, Mother was previously married but lost first husband in war, Married his father after meeting in St. Louis, Growing up cannot recall ever being discriminated against due to Bosnian heritage.
