Abstract
Volunteers help plan and undertake nearly every fund raising activity, whether it is a bake sale or a black tie affair, a $100,000 annual fund drive or a multi-million dollar capital campaign. Volunteers may be our best allies and most effective gift generators; they may be a terrible headache and a dreadful disappointment, or they may be, and often are, a mixture of all these qualities. Companies may love their volunteers, they may hate them, but they cannot succeed without them, especially if they expect to conduct a major, fund raising campaign. Therefore volunteers must be taught the tricks of the trade for solicitation in today's society.
In my thesis I will first explain the process of solicitation in nonprofit organizations and then began to explain the methods of improving solicitation. I will stress the importance of "thank you" the magic word and follow with my conclusion.
