Abstract
Organizations are struggling to respond to the concern of increasing productivity through improved human resources management. This will continue to dominate the outlook of most organizations in the near future. There is evidence of the perceived need for a more systematic integration of planning and control in industry. CSFs are important in helping an organization assess external opportunities and threats and internal strengths and weaknesses. Research argues that CSFs can be instrumental in three areas of the strategy development process: environmental analysis, resource analysis and strategy evaluation.
This paper will look at the CSF methodology as it applies to strategic human resource planning applications in identifying information needs.
