Abstract
The Healthcare Industry is being constantly challenged through increased competition and government regulation. Due to this, hospitals and physicians are requiring other services in addition to tax services and the financial management of their businesses.
Hospitals have come to recognize the importance of the physician as a valuable part of their organization. It is important that hospitals begin to strengthen their relationships with their physicians. Once this is achieved, physicians can assess services offered by the hospital and enhance their overall practices. In return, the physicians' loyalties are placed with the hospital which results in market expansion and retention of the physician to the medical staff.
This paper will concentrate on evaluating the overall operation of a physician's office. It can then be used as a basic tool by a hospital or consulting company. The extent of the services will vary from practice to practice and hospital to hospital.
