Abstract
Recently, in the area of Communication Disorders, there has been an increasing emphasis on language development in children. This emphasis resulted in the development of various testing tools to evaluate a child's language skills. But it still appears there is a need for a quick, efficient, screening device to Identify language-delayed children for further evaluation. This study investigates the use of sentence repetition for the purpose of screening receptive and expressive language skill in children and comparing this method to that of the Northwestern Syntax Screening Test, developed by Laura Loo, which also evaluates these areas.
