Abstract
The Master's thesis, "The Leasing Industry In Indonesia And Its Role In The National Development" is a study of the following issues: the Indonesian economic system, Indonesian financial policy reform, understanding the leasing industry in Indonesia and the leasing industry mechanism, and development of the leasing industry in Indonesia.
The first chapter of the thesis provides general information of the Indonesian economic system, such as modernization of the Indonesian economy, the Indonesian financial system, and state-owned banks.
The second chapter focuses on the Indonesian financial policy reforms, which include overhaul of the financial structure, purpose of financial reforms and economic deregulation packages.
Chapter three provides an understanding of leasing in Indonesia, which includes legal aspects of the leasing industry in Indonesia, an understanding of leasing, the definition of leasing, why the people are interested in the leasing industry, characteristics of the leasing industry in general, the difference between financial leasing and operational leasing, and the difference between direct lease and sale and leaseback.
Chapter four focuses on the mechanism of the leasing industry in Indonesia regarding the pre-lease period, lease period, and post-lease period.
Finally, the study will pay attention to the development of the leasing industry in Indonesia regarding the general development of the leasing industry in Indonesia, and prospects for the leasing industry in Indonesia.
