Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the canned pineapple and pineapple juice industry in selected world markets. Investment opportunities in the pineapple processing industry in Thailand will also be reviewed.
The information in this thesis is divided into five parts. The first part defines the scope and methodology of the study. The second part is an overview of the global market of the pineapple processing industry and further discusses the market segment, competition, and prospects for developing countries as producers. The third part presents factors that influence chemical and physical required properties of fresh pineapple. More specifically, the production process for each product is described in detail. The fourth part gives an overview of an investment project located in Thailand as a model for examining feasibility and returns of the project. The fifth part presents the author's conclusion.
