Abstract
Of all the standardized tests used in evaluating language comprehension, the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test (PPVT) was chosen most frequently as the tool for assessing comprehension in language-impaired individuals. A survey conducted in 1971 by the ASHA Committee on Language revealed that 73.9% of the respondents employed the PPVT in the diagnostic evaluation.
