Abstract

In a class of Prints and Print Making the student acquires only a minimum amount of knowledge and experience in working on the different types of engraving such as dry-point or line engraving, lithography, etching, linoleum blocks, and woodcuts. A careful study of the text in the prayer book was made and fifteen preliminary pencil sketches were drawn and submitted to this committee. Of these the thesis advisor chose five which were most appropriate in interpretation and suitable for engraving in wood.
