Description

The Studio Theatre, with these performances of Saratoga Shakespeare, is presenting its tenth production. Studio Theatre, in presenting the "experimental" in theatre, is designed for the discriminating audience. Primarily concerned with the words of writers Studio Theatre has attempted to present plays of worth, whether they come from the contemporary, the avant garde or the classic theatre. The casts of these plays are chosen from both the advanced and the beginning theatre student, thus giving the actor an opportunity to experiment and perform in various styles of acting and production.

Studio Theatre also serves as the touring arm of the Theatre Department. The production of Spoon River Anthology played performances in the Chicago area as well as schools in greater St. Louis. Plans are now being formulated for the fall tour of Saratoga Shakespeare.
