As a student in Fontbonne’s Speech Language Pathology program, it has always been my goal to work with the deaf and hard of hearing population. One of the features that drew me to the IPEI program is the fact that I am being given the opportunity, even as a student, to experience working collaboratively with professionals from disciplines other than my own. Being a sibling of three deaf individuals, I have seen how the collaboration of my parents, teachers of the deaf, and speech language pathologists can positively impact the experiences of families of deaf and hard of hearing children.
