The material covered by this paper is very basic. It is divided into four main sections. In the first section a historical development of the idea of vectors is given with advantages of the vector method being pointed out. The second part deals with vector algebra and its various operations. Applications of the vector concept to geometry are presented in the last two sections. First, Euclidean geometry, mostly in plane geometry and in the last section the vector method is applied to advanced theorems in geometry. Three theorems have been singled out, that of Pappus of Alexandria, Menelaus of Alexandria, and Gerald Desargues.
