A review of research on speech and language development prompted the development of this home stimulation project for infants. The major contribution of this project is not the development of a limited curriculum, although specific methods and materials have been discussed, but rather the development of a different perspective on the educational process. The roles of language stimulation have guided the development of this project and have been supported by the experience of the project. The short-term data of this study suggests the need for a comprehensive system that goes beyond the current emphasis, this being continued stimulation.
