Abstract

The therapeutic procedures applied in the fluency program of this study are based on a combination of the procedures outlined by Gaylor, Lohse, and Williams (1977) in the Speech Fluency Program. The purpose of this study was to (a) establish fluency in the clinical environment and to keep the subject fluent at all times, (b) create an effective transfer and maintenance program for each individual subject, (c) strengthen the subject's confidence in using fluent speech in a variety of situations and settings, while gradually withdrawing program support, and (d) specify in detail the procedures used in this study.
