Abstract

Sixteen first grade students with normal hearing and intelligence were administered both tests. A comparison was made of the percentile scores using the Sperman Rank Order Correlation Test. The results of the study showed a statistically significant moderate negative correlation between the G.F.W. test and the L.A.C. test. Therefore, these two tests may test auditory discrimination, but they can not be used interchangeably, for they appear to be testing different skills. If a subject performs well on one test, he will not necessarily perform well on the other. A clinician might use both tests in a clinical situation, but not interchangeably.
